Get Fit: Week Two Check In

How was it for you??? I have been fighting a chest infection so my body has been really tired and I've been listening to it.
Exercise: I still managed to do the elliptical for 20-40 minutes a day, one run, and one Jillian workout. I took one day off.
Food: I have to say that I have been doing really well and it's just because we have no baking in our house:) Poor Gary!!
Weight: I have maintained the 4lb weight loss and lost nothing else. My goal from here is to lose 1lb per week because I think that is realistic. My blood tests shows that for the second month in a row, my thyroid hormones are in the normal range. Awesome.
Looking Forward: I would love to go for at least 2 runs this week but need to get healthy first!
Let me know how you are doing! As my brother in law, Tyler, mentioned...each pound lost around this time of year is really like two pounds lost because of what you might have gained during this food filled time:)

PS To lose 1lb per week, you need to decrease you caloric intake by 500 calories/day. I guess that means I could just increase my exercise to burn off 500 calories/day.

  1. Food: Probably my greatest gains over the last two weeks have been in this area. My primary goal has been moderation/self-control. I've managed to reign-in my afternoon snacking. Dinner portion sizes have been halved. And (I'm proud of this one) I made it through a Christmas party only having two treats!

Exercise: Still walking regularly (probably could do a little more); went to the gym only once this past week (as opposed to my normal twice); went for one run last week (in the pouring rain).

    Moving forward:
    1) Stay on track with food intake (self-control).
    2) Run twice; gym twice

Keep up the good effort Louise.

Remember, this is not only a physical endeavour, but it is also an exercise in character growth (self-control is a virtue).

This week was pretty good. I am currently without a voice and extremely tired so I listened to my body and only walked twice. I managed to keep up with "no snacking" and that has been getting easier as the weeks go by.
I weighed in 3.6lbs less this morning! It feels great to fit my clothes better:) My weakness is not drinking enough water through out the day and making up for it in the evenings.
Overall I am excited to keep up with this challenge!
    Great work Tyler and Louise!

  5. Tyler and Stephani, great work! So right about the self control...that's why we don't have anything `naughty' in our house or I would eat it all!
Mel-you're growing a healthy size baby so that kinda makes sense...maybe gaining a pound a week would be good?
    Kelly-you're funny.
