Thankful Thursday

This week I am thankful for:

1.  Gary having a safe trip.  He hiked with his LEAD class up at Garibaldi when "the storm" was supposed to be hitting.  I was nervous for him but all was well.

2. My little encourager.  Nya gets dragged along to the boys sporting events, field trips, meetings etc.  and she handles it quite well.  The other day we  were walking by some movers loading up their truck and she pipes up "You guys are doing a nice job!" and then told me that she just wanted to encourage them.  Isn't she kind?

3.  Being able to see Kai run cross country.  He puts so much pressure on himself which is hard for me to watch.  I thought he did really well but he was disappointed his place was lower than last year.  I wish I could include more photos but don't want to show kids faces.  Koen is so excited to run cross country in two years as well and I hope that he enjoys it as much as Kai does!  Very curious what my non-competitive Nya Bear will be like.

4.  Grandma and Grandpa coming to watch cross country.  Very nice that our kids have grandparents nearby and willing to come to these events.

5.  Beautiful sunsets.  We've had a lot of rain lately but the sunsets have been so beautiful almost each and every day.

6.  Fall leaves.  Please, please, please don't go away!

7. A new cookbook: Oh She Glows Every Day book.  We're trying to eat healthier so a good cookbook always helps.  We were so healthy for so long but when life gets exhausting (like the past 1.5 years) we start adding in carbs and sugar...

8. A cool opportunity on Tuesday.  I can't share details about it yet but I'll let you know when it's live in a week or two!  I still feel inadequate that I was selected but tried to be confident about it. Sorry, so vague.

9.  Good parent teacher meetings.  Our kids have great teachers who "get" our kids.  Kai is LOVING grade 5 which makes me so relieved.

10. So many resources available.  I love that I can take yoga classes and parenting classes and whatever else I'm interested in just minutes from our home.  I hope to blog about the parenting of preteens and teenagers once I'm done the class.  One thing I can tell you already: Oh mylanta, I have been such an opinion-giver when I wasn't asked and this is something I am working on.

All right, that's it for this week! I'd love to hear what you are thankful for today.

Love,
Louise

  1. So cute about Nya encouraging the movers. Did they hear what she said to them?
