Rainy Day Fun at Port Kells Nurseries

We've gone to Port Kells Nurseries several times over the past few years for photos with Santa and visiting their Pumpkin Patch.  Although it's generally best to go on a rain-free day, there are still many covered areas which make this a great location to head to on a less-than-stellar day! Did I mention that it's free?!

New this year is the ball toss area which my boys loved–including Gary (and myself!)  This giant indoor area has a sand-filled play area, hay maze and ball toss.  There is also a haunted house and Pumpkin Cafe nearby.

We ventured outside in our rain gear to check out the pigs and chickens (both undercover) and then did the new grass maze.  On a better day weather-wise, there are also many gourd and pumpkin displays to check out, the character boards with cut-out faces, and the pumpkin patch area with tractors to sit and play on.

There is the option of a covered hay ride for $5 (kids under 3 are free) and that admission can be used towards credit in the cafe or for pumpkins! So, just because it's raining doesn't mean you have to stay home. You can still get into the autumn spirit by visiting a pumpkin patch like this one in Port Kells.

Are there other areas in the Lower Mainland that you would recommend for rainy day fun?

Love,
Louise
