Family-Friendly Yew Lake Trail

Do you want a family-friendly walk with gorgeous views? We discovered a new trail this morning and I'm so glad we gave it a try: Yew Lake Trail up at Cypress Mountain.  The trail is 2 km long and is stroller and wheelchair friendly.  We also did the small Old Growth Loop at 300 meters in length.  The fall colours, fresh air, beautiful trees and easy trail made this a win for the whole family.

When going up Cypress Mountain it's always great to stop at the look out area–isn't it beautiful?

Once at the top the parking is free and washrooms are available before heading out onto the trails.

There are so many trails to do but we kept it simple and took the easiest path.  We'll definitely have to go back to try out more of them!

This little section is the Old Growth Loop; it's worth it as a 5 minute addition to the main trail.

There are multiple reflective lakes and ponds along the way.

It takes about 20 minutes to get to Yew Lake.  There are picnic tables and we stopped to enjoy some hot chocolate and snacks.

This was the perfect way to spend our morning and I highly recommend this walk if you find yourself in North Vancouver!  I'm looking forward to snowshoe season coming up and then a lot more hiking in the spring.  What are your favourite walks or hikes in the Lower Mainland? Have you done Yew Lake Trail?

Love,
Louise
