What a perfect month to be practicing gratitude. Not only is it the Canadian Thanksgiving but things are not the easiest in the Chapman household these days so...trying to maintain perspective.
This week I am thankful for:
1. Taking part in Run for the Cure for the 15th year in a row. I'm here. I'm healthy enough to run. A good time with extended family to honour our mom/oma.
2. Instrument for Kai. He is in band this year at school and although trumpet was not his first choice, I wanted something that I didn't have to pay for. Auntie Jackie saved the day when he was chosen to play the trumpet! He's excited about it.
3. A night away. I went to Nanaimo for a foster parent conference. It wasn't exactly what I was looking for exactly information-wise or friend-wise BUT I did have a fabulous night sleep, good food, and a walk along the water. I was also able to watch three episodes of Gilmore Girls because I really want to finish by November!
4. New cardigan. I'm not sure if it's cute or not but I got it on 50% off day at VV so it was just $3. I love cardigans--temperature control, layers, and cover my butt.
{PS Promo code for SHE IS Clothing: TALKNERDY10 gives you 10% off and it's in Canadian dollars}
5. Dinner at a french cafe. When I was in Nanaimo I went for dinner by myself at this French Cafe...there were only two free tables for the whole evening and I got one of them! It's ranked #1 out of 237 restaurants in Nanaimo on Trip Advisor.
6. The view from my hotel room. Pretty, right? I had two double beds to myself! Initially we were thinking of bringing the whole family over but it didn't work with our Little One's visits and the conference starting on a Friday.
7. Seeing the sunrise. I had to get up and out of the house by 5 AM to catch the ferry to the island and this is my reward.
8. Being able to review a car seat. Sometimes I review for other bloggers and then I am able to keep the product. With two vehicles and two kids in car seats still (Nya is just 34 lbs--so itty bitty compared to her brothers!) another car seat always helps. She is having a giveaway so be sure to check it out if you need one too!
9. Cousins. So fun for my kids! Nya always has a buddy and the four big kids get along pretty well on the playground or playing sports.
10. Our new table. We love it! It doesn't look very Pinterest worthy here but it's so lovely and we find it more functional.
11. Love notes. Gary and the kids left them all over the house to find. I still have to find one more of Koen's.
I'd love to hear what you are thankful for today!
Love,
Louise
I like all the "cousins in pink". Hope you are doing alright - have a nice Thanksgiving weekend.
