My first born

Chubs trying to sit in Koen's car seat..prob. not good for it. Kai's funny. If Gary and I are having a conversation and aren't paying attention to him, he will say in a very forceful, grown up voice, `What's going on here boys?'. I think he got it from watching Gary coach:)

Good thing about not being pregnant...being able to sit down on the floor and cuddle with Kai!! He's letting me hold his hand:) He has been way less grumpy lately. Yippee!!

Super baby

Dimples. I have been giving him the BioGaia drops for 4 days and have not noticed a change. He still has tons of gas and discomfort. I'm pretty sure he's got reflux as he needs to be upright after feedings, loves being in the bjorn, and lays best on his tummy. He screams after a feeding and stiffens his entire body. Poor little guy. I feel bad for his pain. He is way more alert and once his pain is gone (about 30 minutes after the feed is over), he is quite content. He has his baby acne in full force right now, and, along with his receding hair line, he is def. not the cutest baby around:)
I have to say that my emotional state is amazing. I haven't cried once since he was born. This is very unusual for me!!! I have gotten frustrated. Mostly at night when he won't stop crying. Gary and I both get very frustrated. I swear sometimes. Yup. Gary kind of let's me get away with it.

QUESTIONS OF THE DAY:

1. Does anyone have a kitchen cloth that doesn't stink after one day? Is there a special kind out there that I'm missing out on? Stinky kitchen clothes drive me CRAZY.

2. Where is a good place to buy jeans these days? I do not want low rise ones. I do not want to spend too much money but I want them to look nice:)

  1. Costco has the Santana Jeans back in stock...they are my FAV by FAR! Kai's birth - I was there for a bit and I remember the contractions made you a little "emotional." It was nice to experience a little of a labor that was not my own. Very different perspective.

  2. #1: the sham-wow cloths with cheesy commercials on tv. I don't think they stink at all. Maybe i never stick my nose in it, but i can't smell it from afar (and on my hands afterwards) like a normal cloth.
#2: i love jeans from jacob annexe or jacob connexion. Also from Warehouse One (The Jean Warehouse) in Abbotsford.

  3. heya, we have that same brown and white striped outfit for Riley! He just wore it yesterday (I think for the last time--it gave him camel toe)!
Are you guys still taking pix? We want some family photos done but know it is a very busy time for you guys...
We've been talking about it for years but always feel bad asking because you are busy doing xyz...but you know, I think a better method would be to just ask and let you tell us when would be a good time!

  4. I have no clue where to get jeans?? I am going to go shopping for clothes this spring. As for cloths, I find keeping a container with water and a bit of bleach by the laundry helps. I throw the cloths in there after a days use and then when the container is full, I throw it in the wash. I HATE it when stinky cloths get all the other laundry stinky so this is what works for me. It does fade the cloths though.

  5. I use a Norwex microfibre cloth in the kitchen and I have trouble getting the stink out. I am going to try this:

Tea tree is a great deodoriser for smelly kitchen wash cloths. Soak the cloth in a bowl of water to which you add a touch of tea tree and detergent and the rags will be clean and sweet smelling overnight.

  6. Norwex is tricky. They say that most soaps and detergents and fabric softeners trap grease into the cloth, making it stink faster and not work as well. I gave up on that one. You can boil a Norwex cloth in a pot with a bit of natural (no fillers) detergent. It helps really clean it, but you have to do it a LOT!

  7. Even after I boil the Norwex cloth, it is still kind of stinky. I like knowing that it does a good job cleaning my surfaces, but can't stand the stench. I am going to try the tea tree oil tonight.

  8. Norwex cloth update:

    Tea tree oil soak works.

Also, I started washing my Norwex cloths with baking soda instead of laundry soap, and vinegar in the fabric softener part of the wash cycle. They come out looking and smelling clean!
