Thankful Thursday

Practicing gratitude one Thursday at a time!
This week I am thankful for:

1. A camping trip at Chilliwack Lake.  The original plan was to backpack to Lindemen Lake but with the rain we decided to just camp at the provincial park there–we will be back for sure! We ended up spending the day there, in the rain, and decided to head home before bed.  I love camping but sometimes I love everyone getting a good night's sleep more.

2.  Nya getting a pedicure with Nana Jo.  My dad's wife kindly took all the girl cousins on an awesome outing to get manicures and Happy Meals–Nya was thrilled!

3.  A gorgeous lake.  Friends, Chilliwack Lake is a "must visit" lake.

4. An awesome summer.  It was the first summer where we didn't have weddings to do and it was so dreamy to just adventure every day.  We didn't have to hop on a plane, our minivan did just fine taking us from one cool place to another.   For the first time I wasn't ready for everyone to go back to school/work.

5.  No campfire ban.  The kids loved starting a fire and roasting marshmallows.  Kai particularly loved using a knife to make the roasting sticks.

6. A great morning at Golden Ears Provincial Park. We skipped church on Sunday and went on a little hike down the river where we had a picnic.  The sun was welcomed and it was so relaxing and easy.  Exhale.

7.  Super cool product review opportunities.  If you know me, you know I love the great outdoors.  This past week we reviewed the MSR Windburner Stove System.  A.W.E.S.O.M.E.

8.  Three very unique kids–they are so different!  Kai is serious and athletic, Koen is strong and passionate, Nya is sweet and encouraging (just to name a few character traits).  I have a feeling we will be learning so much from each and every kid–we already are.

9.  A good first day of school.  Last year new issues came up (re: friendships, character traits etc) and I was nervous about what this year would look like.  However, a friend reminded me to take it one day at a time and that's been helping :)

10.  A husband going into his 16th year of teaching.  Teaching is tiring, friends.  I know, I am/was one!  Proud of Gary for his hard work and thankful that he still enjoys it!

11.  A daughter who relates well to all of her siblings.  It is not easy having two big brothers or a younger sibling with bigger needs, this girl rocks her role.  She is so sweet and patient and understanding with each and every one of them.  I love her so much.

12.  Mr. Table.  We love our kitchen table as it has served us well with three meals a day for eleven years!  We are getting a new one and Nya was so sad–she started kissing the table saying "I'll miss you, Mr. Table!"  If anyone needs a well loved table that still functions just fine, let me know!  We're moving away from the pub style chairs as having our kid's feet closer to the ground is hopefully going to keep our antsy kids a little more grounded.

I hope you had a great week!  I'd love to hear what you are thankful for today.

Love,
Louise

Looks like Gold Creek in Golden Ears? Craig and I did that with Will on our anniversary when we happened to be on the mainland. It was a rainy day but an easy one at only 9 weeks post partum. Still not quite where I used to be! And Will was just fine in the rain :)
