Thankful Thursday

Every week I take time to reflect on ten things that I am thankful for.

This week I am thankful for:

1. Christmas Decor.  I'm not a big decorator (because I choose saving money, practicality, and less clutter over it looking extra nice) BUT Christmas is just so beautiful!

2.  A great ballet teacher.  Nya has decided that she would not like to sign up for anything so I'm giving her a break.  She loves it when she is there but mentally getting her to things, like ballet, is not my favourite activity.

3. Books.  This past month I read Me Before You and The Nightengale; two great ones!  Our kids enjoy books too and I hope that this continues!

4. Easy-to-make dinners. These meals are so affordable, healthy, and easy to make.  With Gary gone at least 4 evenings a week, I have very little time or energy to expend on dinner--ta da! You can order online or they are stocked at some local stores.

5. Grandparents. I'm very glad that my dad and Nana Jo are able to be part of my kids' lives! I know that this is not always the case when there is a death in the family, followed by remarriage etc.  Koey gets his "Pest Gene" from my dad.

6. Cousins.  One is missing from this photo (well, also our Little One) but lotsa love in our extended family!

7. Happy childhood memories.  My dad used to sit on the living room floor every night after dinner and we'd have a routine; there would be tickles and a lot of flipping over the shoulder, like this....

8.  Christmas with our Little Love.  I'm excited to experience all of the joy of Christmas through this child's eyes!

9. Giveaways. I love being able to give people prizes!  Right now I have two tickets for FlyOver Canada and a six-month subscription to Netflix

10.  These kids.  I really had no idea what this whole parenting thing would be like but it is so much MORE than I ever imagined...more work but also more love and growth.

So, there's this weeks Thankful Thursday!  What are you thankful for today?

Love.
Louise

  1. #3 - I finished the Nightingale late this past weekend too! So good! (And I'd read Me Before You as well and loved it!). I'm ready for my next book - what would you suggest?

  4. #1 is totally me. I can't justify spending money to decorate, it's a little impractical with so many little kids, and I have no taste or sense of style. :)
