In 6 more sleeps I'm going to be leaving Gary and the kids for a night. I have only left twice before (besides a school trip to Bamfield, but that doesn't count because it was work).
In 2006, when I was 4 months pregnant with Kai, I went with girlfriends to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon.

Then, in 2010, I did a kayaking trip with friends.
{How have we not done this trip again?! It was so fun! That's it. Planning it again for this summer.}
Next weekend, my sisters and I are getting away for a night. Without any kids (besides one in utero). All five of us. This will be a first! The plan is to hike, relax in the hot tub, eat, and sleep. I am bringing a bottle of wine too. I think the last time my sisters and I shared a hotel room, we were in Hawaii in 1997? We all get along well but each of us has our quirks (who doesn't?) so it should be interesting.
{Apparently this is the last picture I have of the five of us without any kids in the picture?! Here we were all pregnant...2.5 years ago!}
Suddenly I'm excited for the summer and the thought of planning an overnight hiking trip or two!
If you could do a girls/guys weekend, what would it be?

ReplyDeleteMy friend and I went and saw a stylist in Calgary for a few hours. It was free and is at one of the malls. It was so much fun! I would have only added spending the night so that we wouldn't have had to leave at 8am to get to SW Calgary for 10am! Later that week she became very sick with some dizziness which still hasn't been diagnosed so I'm sure once she's better (it's been 5 months and she still hasn't been diagnosed) we will go again and maybe this time spend the night!
