If you've been following me for a while, you know I don't talk about clothing or fashion that much. I do like to share companies that I love, deals that I've found, or awesome nerdy shirts, but that is not the focus. This April I am participating in a #Spring30for30 challenge with a few other blogging friends. You choose 30 items of clothing to wear for the month and make a new outfit each and every day. The items do not include shoes or accessories or work out gear. I am a person who is tempted to wear the same five outfits all month so this will challenge me to use what I have a little more creatively. I also want to resist the urge to buy more clothing and instead just appreciate what I already have.
{This skirt and cardigan have pockets which is important to me!}
Along the way, I'm trying to figure out the best way to clothe this 5'6.5" 37-year-old 160 lb mom-of-three body. Yes, I just said my weight which I have never done publicly. All muscle, yo. Well, there's some. In regards to posting photos of these outfits, I will be doing it in a blog post once a week with a few posts on Facebook and Instagram (where I try not to be awkward.) Although I'm not a person who focuses on trends, I do think it's important to take care of yourself. Often when you look good, you feel good!
I struggle with the balance between wanting to look nice and not wanting to invest too much time or money into it because I want to focus on what is really important in life; this extends into other areas for me such as hair and nails. I usually get my hair done once a year and I LOVE it but I can't justify having it done more frequently. If you've got this balance figured out, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.
{Apparently I love this cardigan. There is still a promo on for SHE IS Clothing (where this tank is from) using the discount code: talknerdy}
So there you have it, folks! A light-hearted challenge for the month. Let's see if I can make some fun outfits and not feel to silly posting pictures of myself.
{Although workout gear is my favourite, thumbs up to trying a new challenge!}
