This is really embarrassing but I need your help because Gary's fashion advice is questionable (love you!) and my sisters, as much as I love them, aren't super helpful in this department. Please don't make fun of me!! I always remember as a kid, the night before the first day of school, I would go into my parents bedroom to ask my mom her opinion of about 10 different outfits. She would usually just pick the most conservative one:) Now, I usually only take 2 minutes to figure out what to wear each day, but, there is a special day coming up!
Gary and I are having our photos done in two weeks and I want to pick two outfits that are flattering and cute. I'm going for a fun and romantic type look...I think. These are not the finished outfits, just a start to some possibilities. Would love your feedback...favourite one? Wear jeans in the first one instead of brown leggings (Gary likes the leggings but I think it makes me look like Robin Hood), obviously I wouldn't wear a black bra with that last dress, flats for the dress? Belt for the dress? etc. I don't have any jewellery on the last two but just imagine that I'm wearing a necklace in the middle one and nicer earrings for all of them. Oh yes, and no watch and yes to bracelets.
Normally I would tell people not to wear such light colours (like the tops in #1 and #3) especially since I am so pale and have blond hair. I bought a nice purple shirt but realized it's not as flattering as I thought it was. I love, love, LOVE purple. The backdrop that we are going to be at is Granville Island which is super colourful so I sort of wanted to be a bit more neutral for that.
Finally, I would never stand like this, I'm just trying to get you to see me straight on (so not flattering!!)
If you have any opinions on where I could buy a cute outfit or dress that would be flattering for my size 11 frame (including football playing shoulders and arms), please let me know! Also, it can't be too hot because I sweat easily. Ha.
Any feedback is helpful! Thanks, team. I'm so nervous to press `publish' because this is so dorky, but I need your help:)
Love, Louise
I don't really know you, so I have no idea what suites your personality best, but I think option #2 looks great. :)
ReplyDeleteyou look great in all of them.
ReplyDeleteLove your Boys
Hi Louise!
ReplyDeleteI think outfit #2 is my favorite!
I agree that jeans(slim fitting) would look good with outfit #1.
Maybe outfit #3 would look good with dark colored leggings or jeans to break up the paleness of your non-summerized legs with the light colored dress;) The dress is super cute by the way, I am not brave enough to try wearing a dress, I don't even own one!
How exciting to have a session with just you and Gary. I am currently only 7lbs from my goal, maybe then a dress and a photo shoot?
I often buy from American Eagle(shirts) or Reitmans(pants/skirts).
I hope all your feedback is helpful, have fun!
Steph
I like 1 and 2 the best. They're nice and casual, but not t-shirt and jeans casual.
ReplyDeleteI love outfit #1 and #2! I don't know you at all either but I think those look great on you! I love the leggings too. I don't have the guts to pull the whole legging thing off even though I own two pairs of them... I like the idea but I just can't bring myself to wear them! Have fun getting your pictures done!
ReplyDeleteaww thats so sweet your boys said that;) and they're right you look good in all.
ReplyDeletei would vote for #1, very cute with the boots. not sure if im allowed to vote as a sister who wears sweatpants everyday, but still.
bring multiple outfit options? :)
Awww - first comment ever by Gary! I like outfit #2. I am a little offended by your comment about sisters.....hmmmm
ReplyDeleteSo, I love #1 and #2... I think #2 would look great at Granville Island especially. I like it with flats but some cute heals would make it look really hot :)
ReplyDeleteMy order of preference:
ReplyDelete#2 - awesome! Fun and classy.
#1 - the colourful jewelry is a must (I wish I had worn something colourful like that it our family pics)
#3 - maybe it's just the angle of the picture, but the other two are definitely more flattering.
Yup... that's my opinion, take it or leave it! :)
I think number one looks super cute!
ReplyDeleteLouise, you are awesome:)!!
ReplyDeleteYou really don't want to be taking fashion advice from me as my clothes are all over 10 years old unless you count the new shirts that my mother in law gives me!!! But, because you asked, I really love outfit #2. I think I really love the colors and it seems very classy on you. My second favorite is #1 because the combo of the boots and tights seems really fashionable. I can't wait to see how the photos turn out!
You will look terrific no matter what you wear, but I must say I like the first outfit. You do not look like Robin Hood!
ReplyDeleteI like the bottom 1/2 for number 1, and the top 1/2 for number 2 ;)
ReplyDeleteWow everyone! I went away for a few hours and all my decisions were made for me. I think I'll have to do this more often!
ReplyDeleteJackie, I hope you are joking.
maybe switch the bottoms of #1 and #2? skinny jeans with #1 top would be super cute!
ReplyDeleteI love outfit number 1, very flattering on you, especially with the leggings and boots. Outfit 2 is good also, but do you have capri's? I think a bit of a shorter jean or legging would elongate your legs. The purple top is very cute. In terms of places to look for cute clothes, RW&CO has the most amazing dresses. I have bought 4 dresses there in the last year to wear to weddings. Some are a little more fancy, some more casual, but great fit, and I believe all of them come with straps that come off so they can be worn strapless.
ReplyDeletelol, you are cute.
ReplyDeleteI vote #2, hands down!
I like #1 the most and #2 next.
ReplyDelete#2 is definitely my fave, and #1 my second fave. :)
ReplyDeleteOutfit #1 is so cute..dont' change a thing! And outfit #2 is a nice change since it is slightly dressier than outfit #1. I think together they will look great in pictures! I am the same size as you and shop at H&M (cheap!), Costco (can have really cute separates), Gap (if you shop online in the sale section it is great).
ReplyDeleteI love EVERYTHING about #1
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny Louise. Some may think neurotic but since I know you, this has Louise written all Over it.
ReplyDeleteGary is dead on about outfit #1. #2 is the best. You look really sharp, pretty and classy. However I think you need to be wearing something different on the bottom to make it perfect. I would suggest a dark skirt and then youcan wear some heels or strappy sandals.
That is all I have to say. I go now to watch ANTM.
Seriously Louise....from your pictures I would gave guessed you were a size 5. You wear all three of the outfits really well!
ReplyDeletemy favourites are #1 & #2. They are the most flattering on you :)
ReplyDeleteI love outfit 1!
