This week I am thankful for:
1. Seeing the salmon spawning. It was so beautiful and inspiring!
2. Being able to go to the BC Lions game as a family. There is an organization called Kids Up Front which provides tickets to children (and adults) who have challenging circumstances (ex. being a foster family).
3. Lunch with my family. It was nice to go out with all of the adults and just talk and...pig out. Newlands has such a big buffet!
4. Gorgeous skies. Were they always this beautiful growing up and I just never noticed?
5. Family day at Castle Fun Park. Basically the Lions game plus Castle Fun Park made it the "best weekend ever".
6. Time to read. I have three parenting books on the go right now. I know, it's a bit much but we have so many factors to deal with!
7. Strollers. I know, she's too old for it but she has a respiratory bug this week which just takes away all of her energy...her poor little lungs need to grow!
8. The changing of seasons. I'll have to remember what I love about nature in winter but for now, this is pretty :)
9. Sorel boots for $5 each. We're ready for the winter! I love finding them boots secondhand–I can't imagine having to pay full price for four kids.
10. Time to myself. This year I have several hours by myself each week and next year I will likely have more as Nya will be in kindergarten part time. Although I will likely work a bit more, I am really looking forward to adventuring at least one day a week. Fingers crossed.
What is something that you are thankful for today?
Love,
Louise
