Thankful Thursday

This week I am thankful for:

1. Kai taking an interest in music.  I love seeing them branch out beyond their usual love of sports and math :)  He led us in a few rounds of "Old MacDonald" while we were eating dinner.

2. The relationship between Gary and Little One.  Although I am preferred, Gary will do the trick!  LO loves wrestling and snuggling and holding Gary's hand.

3. Creative kids.  I love what they come up with.  They do up whole tournaments for teams of stuffies to play hockey.  Here they were getting some team photos done first.

4. Family walks.  Kai really connects through activity and I need fresh air to rejuvenate.  Not all of the kids enjoy it (Koen!) but I think the exercise and togetherness is really important for our family.

5. Ballet on Monday mornings.  The cuteness is through the roof.

6. Purple soap.  Obviously that's all it took to get her to wash her hands more frequently.  What was I thinking?

7.  A great puzzle find at Home Sense.  Just $14.99 for the Periodic Table!  I don't do puzzles but I'm thinking I will enjoy this one!

8.  A good book.  I'm just 1/4 through but I feel like this is a beneficial read for me right now. One thing I would have done differently as a new mom would have been to have an older mentor;  someone who I could connect with emotionally and who could help guide and validate my thoughts and feelings.  I NEED words of affirmation and although I have good mom friends, it would have been helpful to have someone emotionally supportive who knew what it was like on the "other end."

9.  Pureed pumpkin.  Anyone else turn their Halloween decorations into pureed pumpkin?  It's in the homemade Mac 'N Cheese!

10. A son that loves to cook.  I love seeing my kids WANT to help in the kitchen and actually be able to do it on their own (the clean up portion needs a lot of work!)  Kai started a baking competition in his class and the first round is on Friday.  He made my mom's "Best Brownies"...recipe to come.

I hope that you are having a wonderful week and can find something to be thankful for today.  If so, what is it?

Love ,
Louise

  3. Those are great things to be thankful for! I love the family walks... I remember doing that with my family as a kid, and my girls enjoy going for walks too (though we usually do it for a reason, like heading to dance class or appointments). Thanks for sharing!
