November can be quite dreary and throw in a busy season of basketball after school hours and we are in the need for some calm and cozy connecting after dinner. Our house may not be decorated for the season yet but it has been the perfect opportunity to start watching kid-friendly Christmas movies on Netflix! Looking forward to the magic of Christmas is always fun and a great change of pace.
What have the kids been watching?
Is it just me or are there a lot of kids Christmas movies that involve dogs? So far we have watched Beethoven's Christmas Adventure and 12 Dogs Days Till Christmas. Our kids have been begging for a dog so these movies did not help us in that department – I do think we would've adopted Petunia for sure (from 12 Dog Days Till Christmas). We've also enjoyed the classics of How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Elf, of course. I asked on Facebook for recommendations and Arthur Christmas came out on top so that is on the list for Friday's movie night!
Do you have a Netflix movie that you watch annually? I remember watching Home Alone when I was a kid.We watched that one so many times and my middle sister could often be heard saying the "naughty" words "I'm going to pump your guts full of lead!" and "Keep the change you filthy animal"–yikes! There's something special about all being together and connecting over a silly/funny/emotional movie especially as my kids get older and they understand the scenes on a different level.
If you have family-friendly movie suggestions, I would love to hear them!
I hope you have a wonderful December full of great memories and good food. Don't forget that you can download many episodes and movies on Netflix to watch where there is no WiFi. We love it for long car rides, airport waits, and doctor/dentist appointments!
Love,
Louise
