This week I am thankful for:
1. A husband who taught me how to use my camera. Fifteen years ago Gary taught me how to use the SLR and about 11 years ago, the DSLR. I always loved taking photos but more for capturing the moment, now I love how I can try to capture the moment beautifully (light, crisp, different perspectives etc). Yes, we each have our own cameras. After we closed our photography business we couldn't bear to sell either one (or any lenses other than the 85mm).
2. A beautiful winter day. We haven't had a lot of sun here on the west coast so when I saw it, we had to get outside! I love where we live but do wish we had more sunny clear days like this one on Christmas Day!
3. Family. We both have large-ish extended families that all live within 45 minutes of us. This is so great for our kids and sometimes a bit busy.
4. Christmas brunch tradition with friends. Ali, did you get our invite?
5. Snow! I loved having snow this Christmas and I also got some great use out of my new coat.
6. Nacho and smoothie night. It reminds me so much of when Gary and I were dating.
7. A husband who doesn't mind painting. Our basement is very well-used. It was time.
8. Swimming lessons this week. We haven't done them in 1.5 years because I don't love doing it on my own so usually wait so I can have Gary's assistance. It's been a great way for the kids to get an hour of exercise each day!
9. Leah babysitting. We haven't had another babysitter for our Little One so a high five to Leah for watching the two Littles so that we could go to the Canucks game with the big boys.
10. A wonderful oma. My dad's mom may not be around much longer and it has caused us to reflect on our lives with her. I am so thankful for her presence in my life–she has the gift of encouragement and support.
I hope you've had a great week! What are you thankful for today?
Love,
Louise
