Thankful Thursday: Campground Edition

We are currently on a beauitful road trip adventure on Vancouver Island. This week's list of five thankful items comes from site #16 from Bella Pacifica Campground in Tofino. I am thankful for:
1. A summer with just our family. These kids are getting so big so fast! I want to make sure we have a lot of focussed time together with just the five of us. Nothing like sharing a tent to keep us close.

2. A husband that will play cards with the kids. I think I was enjoying a book and beer beside them. I had just hepled them with their s'mores if that makes me look more useful.

3. Campfires on the beach. Our site has the fire ring on the beach which is a prime location. So perfect.

4. Laughter and inside jokes.  These kids and their inside jokes...

5. The hammock. This is one of our most well-used pieces of camping equipment.

6. Fixing the tent without poles. We showed up to our beautiful site and realized the tent poles were still at home. Gary managed to use a million ropes to string it up and it worked! It is quite embarassing as Gary teaches this sort of thing at school but no one really seemed to notice and it worked.

7. One on one time with each kid and a whole lot of beach to explore.

8. A friend giving us a skimboard. We weren't sure if we wanted to buy one in case the kids didn't use it. However,  Kai figured it out on Mackenzie Beach and really enjoyed it!

9. A husband who builds sandcastles. I don't really play in the sand.

10. Enjoying playing pass with the kids. My record with Koen was 51 completed catches. Nice for some one on one time!

Overall I am so thankful for safe travels and a healthy family. We have had a great start to our summer so far! What is something that you are thankful for today?

Love,
Louise

    1. Excited you get to go too! I think the problem is when you split up tasks some things can get forgotten...or we're just getting old :)
