Staying Cool
Okay, so there is no fun and exciting picture for today. What have we been up to this past week? Well, hiding from the heat. What does this mean? Going to the mall and walking laps there, watching movies at Colossus, reading books in the basement, sleeping in the basement (on the most uncomfortable futon EVER which is such a change from our wonderful king size bed), ...All I can say is that I've been up since 5am and although I do appreciate being off from work there's not a whole lot I can do due to the extremely high temperatures and the 35lb bulge on my belly. Am I feeling sorry for myself? A little. What's the plan for today? I think its too hot to go to church...maybe go for a swim? Tomorrow I get a pedicure...my sister Jackie gave me a gift certificate last Christmas for one so now I will finally use it...pretty busy life I have right now:)

hi louise! i can sure relate to you trying to beat the heat. you have many more interesting things to do than me though (what i wouldn't give to go see am movie in english for once). tonight, though, i discovered if i go for a quick swim in the ocean, i am fairly cool for the rest of the evening. hopefully i will sleep better. i remember hearing people say that after the baby is born you don't get much sleep, but i don't remember hearing anything about not sleeping before the baby is born. have fun getting a pedicure...i'm jealous of that too :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous!! (except of the bulge in the stomach!!) You should be a pro with the heat having survived a Kenyan summer- however, being pregnant in heat would be a different ballgame. I can't believe it's warming up already here. In the 30's again during the day. Enjoy the "nothing to do" blues! Could definitely use some of those here. It's been insane. Tomorrow I'm planning to lay by the pool at the Holiday Inn before meeting a pastor connected to my church from home who is in the city. I didn't get a weekend so I'll take it tomorrow- hopefully no surprises!
