So apparently I am not allowed to steer when going canoeing with Gary ever again. Ruddering is elementary and if I don't want to learn the correct and efficient way of canoeing, I better stick to the front of the canoe.
Congratulations - you have made it through a timeless right of passage. All couples must face the Canoe Test. The genius of the test is that no couple has ever passed. All end up frustrated and finger-pointing, and it's always the person in the back's fault -even if you switch. (The experience is especially bad for canoe instructors.) Successful navigation is not the true test. The real test is whether or not you can stay together. Yea - go Chapmans!
